Ivy Asia – 3m Samurai
St Paul’s, London
One of AH Studios' most ambitious projects for Ivy Asia St Paul's was the creation of a magnificent 3-metre high samurai warrior that commands attention in the restaurant's dramatic interior, working from an original 16th-century samurai armour as reference to undertake the complex challenge of recreating an exact replica scaled to 200% of its original size.
The technical expertise required showcased AH Studios' mastery of both historical research and advanced fabrication techniques, where every component of the original armour had to be carefully studied, measured, and proportionally scaled to achieve the exact 200% enlargement while maintaining structural integrity, with our craftsmen ensuring that each plate, joint, and decorative detail remained faithful to the period-authentic design, creating a museum-quality replica that stands as both an artistic centrepiece and historical tribute that has become one of the most photographed and talked-about features at Ivy Asia St Paul's.
